Robbins continued her long and fruitful relationship with Joe Baum throughout his tenure there, creating many theatrical displays and producing many events created to celebrate the "art of the party". Joe Baum believed that "less was often less, not more," and that making sure that children had a great time at his restaurants guaranteed those children would be back for their engagement parties, their weddings, and their golden anniversaries. He know how to throw a great party!

Seven Years of Fellini Parades
Under the stewardship of Joe Baum, each New Year's Eve celebration at the Rainbow Room featured a fantastical parade of Fellini-esque costumed figures who appeared at the stroke of midnight to usher in the new year. Robbins was delighted to not only design the costumes and props, but to have the opportunity to produce and cast these ever-changing traveling troup of players.
The collage above was from a particularly enjoyable year in which we created eight and a half "Anitas" in glorious celebration of Fellini's great film "8 1/2" and of Ms. Anita Eckberg. (The 'half-Anita' was a beautiful little person.)
